Meta title checker

Use this meta title checker to measure a search snippet in pixels. Read a live page or check up to 50 URLs, then edit search and social previews.

Drafts stay in your browser. Fetch and bulk modes send URLs to our server; remote images load only with your permission.

A SERP preview shows how your title and description fit a chosen search layout. This checker measures actual browser fonts, counts characters and highlights likely cuts. Fetch a public page for metadata and rewrite signals, or compare up to 50 URLs for duplicates. Google can choose different wording for each query.

Dates and stars are examples. They do not confirm eligibility for Google rich results. The local favicon stays in this browser.

Measured content width: 580 px · 1 title line(s), 2 description line(s)

Canvas measurement is unavailable. Text is shown without a measured cut.

Loading a remote image contacts its host. Images are not fetched otherwise.

Measured in the font this browser resolves: Arial, 20 px title and 14 px description. Values reviewed 11 October 2026. A narrow tool window reduces the available preview width.

Google can rewrite text and publishes no fixed length limit.

How to use this tool

Edit or read a public page
Draft text stays in your browser. Fetch mode sends the URL to our server, which reads bounded HTML without running JavaScript. It checks robots.txt before every page and redirect. Read the fetched tags, then edit your draft; those edits do not change the live website.
Check the space your words use
Canvas measures Arial at 20 pixels for titles and 14 pixels for descriptions, including bold keywords and an optional date. Desktop uses 580 pixels of content width. Mobile defaults to 360 pixels, two title lines and three description lines; adjust its width to compare layouts. These are dated simulator assumptions, not Google limits.
Compare pages and act on the evidence
Bulk mode reads up to 50 public URLs or one same-origin XML URL sitemap. It reports failed rows, duplicate titles and descriptions, character counts and measured pixel widths. Duplicate comparisons ignore case, whitespace and punctuation. Export CSV for your editor. Fetching stops at 60 seconds, 120 request attempts or an 8 MiB body budget, so a run can be partial.

Questions before you start

No. Measurements are exact for the font your browser resolves and the layout selected here. Google varies layouts, uses different fonts on some devices and can rewrite text from the page, H1 or Open Graph tags. It publishes no fixed character or pixel limit. Use the preview to compare drafts, then check actual indexed results.

Yes. Paste up to 50 URLs or an XML URL sitemap. Only the first 50 unique public URLs on the sitemap origin are used. Sitemap indexes, gzip files and child sitemaps are not followed. Single-page checks allow ten runs per hour per IP; bulk allows three. Results can be cached for five minutes. Unreadable robots.txt prevents fetching.

A generic, brand-only, repeated or mostly uppercase title can be less useful than visible page text. A title and H1 that discuss different subjects deserve review. Missing or duplicate descriptions give Google fewer useful choices. These checks identify editing signals, not the probability of a rewrite. A clear description should match what the page actually offers.

No. Dates and ratings are optional illustrations; this tool does not verify rich-result eligibility. Open Graph and X previews show your draft or the fetched tags with labelled fallbacks. A social platform may crop images or keep a cached card. Remote images are loaded only after you request it, which contacts their host.
