Knowledge panel checker

Use this knowledge panel checker to review Wikidata and Wikipedia entries for a business. Check its official website and linked profiles before editing records.

Free, no account. Ten lookups per hour, shared with our other domain checks.

Either field works on its own; both give the best match. We send them to our API, which asks Wikidata.

A knowledge panel checker looks for your business in Wikidata, the open entity database that search engines and AI assistants draw on, and for its Wikipedia articles in eleven languages. It shows each matching entry with its official website and linked profiles. Google’s own Knowledge Graph is not queried here, so a match never guarantees a panel.

How to use this checker

Enter your business name and domain
The name finds entries that share it. The domain finds entries that list your website as their official website, which is the stronger match. Either one works on its own.
Compare your website schema
When a domain is given, we read its homepage HTML and Organization JSON-LD through our guarded fetcher. The page’s supported language is used for Wikidata search. sameAs links are compared with each entity, Wikipedia articles and recorded social profiles. This is identity evidence, with no promise of a Google panel.
Compare the matches
For the first three matches we read the full Wikidata entry: description, official website, profiles such as LinkedIn or Instagram, and Wikipedia articles in our eleven languages. A website that differs from yours usually means another business with the same name.
Fix what you can
Publish accurate Organization schema with sameAs links to your real profiles, and keep your name, address and website the same everywhere. A wrong Wikidata statement can be corrected with a reliable source.

Claim an existing Google knowledge panel

Search Google for the entity you represent. If a panel appears, choose "Claim this knowledge panel", review the information and follow Google’s verification flow using an official site or profile. Some panels cannot be claimed; use Feedback when the claim option is absent. A local business may need a Google Business Profile instead.

A Wikidata entry, Wikipedia article or schema match does not guarantee that Google will display a panel. This checker does not inspect Google results or create or claim a panel.

Questions about this checker

No. We do not query Google’s Knowledge Graph. Wikidata is public, and search engines and AI assistants draw on it, so it is a useful first check. Search for your business name on Google to see whether a panel appears.

No. Wikipedia asks people with a conflict of interest not to write about their own company, and an article needs significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. That coverage has to come first.

Wikidata accepts entries for things that serious, publicly available sources describe, and its notability policy sets the rules. Add only neutral facts with references. Entries that read like advertising are deleted.

Name matches come from Wikidata’s own search, in its order. Add your domain: an entry that lists your website as its official website is marked as a website match and moves to the top.

Get your Organization schema written

Schema markup tells search engines and assistants which profiles and facts belong to your business. Our schema service writes it for your site and checks it.
