XML sitemap generator
Generate an XML sitemap of up to 200 canonical pages. Filter paths, inspect exclusions and download XML, gzip or a plain URL list.
Free, no account. Ten sitemaps per hour.
An XML sitemap generator follows links from a website’s home page and lists its indexable, canonical URLs. This one respects robots.txt and meta robots, explains exclusions, and uses observed modification dates. Download XML, gzip or TXT, with optional images and declared hreflang alternates. The crawl includes up to 200 pages.
How to use this tool
- Enter your website
- Use the address of the site, such as https://example.com. The crawl always starts at the home page. If that redirects, for example from www to the bare domain, it continues on the address it lands on.
- What the crawl follows
- HTML links on the final site origin, up to four page requests at a time within 40 seconds. Robots.txt is checked before each redirect hop, using the AiGrowScan group or the * group. A declared crawl delay is respected. JavaScript is not rendered.
- What is left out
- Redirects, duplicates, errors, non-HTML files, noindex pages and URLs with a different canonical are excluded with reasons. Canonical destinations on the same origin are queued. Include patterns filter the output; exclude patterns prevent page requests. Use one path pattern per line, with * as the wildcard.
- Dates in the file
- We look for modification dates in page meta tags, page-level structured data and dateModified time elements, then fall back to Last-Modified headers. Publication dates, invalid dates and request-time headers are ignored. Dates are never generated from the crawl time. Each retained date has a source in the report.
- Put it on your site
- Download XML, optionally compressed with gzip, or a TXT URL list. Upload the file to your site root and copy the supplied Sitemap: line into robots.txt. Submit that URL in Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools, then use the sitemap checker to inspect the published file.
