Broken link checker

Use this broken link checker on a page or crawl up to 50 source pages. Find failed links and resources, then export their source pages to guide repairs.

Free, no sign-up. Up to 50 source pages and 500 links within 55 seconds. Ten runs per hour.

What should we check?

Page mode checks up to 20 links within 25 seconds. Site mode samples up to 50 source pages and 500 links within 55 seconds. Both read server HTML and respect robots.txt.

This free broken link checker checks one page or samples up to 50 source pages and 500 unique HTTP links without sign-up. It reports error responses, source pages and anchor text, redirect problems, failed resources and missing internal fragments. Robots exclusions, timeouts and bot refusals stay separate from broken links. Export the evidence as CSV and repair each source link.

How to use this checker

Choose a page or site sample
Page mode reads one source page and checks up to 20 targets within 25 seconds. Site mode follows same-site HTML links and sitemap seeds up to 50 source pages, depth 3 and 500 unique HTTP targets. Each run stops within 55 seconds and respects robots.txt.
Find the source of each problem
Expand a target to see each source page, anchor text and resource type. Review HTTP errors, DNS failures, loops, redirect chains, HTTPS links pointing to HTTP and internal fragment IDs. Images, scripts and stylesheets are included; email and phone links are listed without fetching them.
Repair and check again
Update or remove each broken link. For a moved internal page, add a 301 to its closest replacement and update the source links. Export CSV, use the redirect and sitemap checkers, then rerun with the same inputs. A bot refusal or timeout needs a manual check.

Questions about this checker

Site mode samples up to 50 source pages and 500 unique HTTP targets, within 55 seconds. It follows HTML links to depth 3 and reads up to four sitemap documents and 200 sitemap URLs. Query-string pages, non-HTML sources and robots exclusions are not crawled. The report states what was skipped.

No. Authentication, rate limits and bot refusals are labeled could not check. An external HEAD request is followed by a small GET, so a server that refuses HEAD alone is not mistaken for a dead link. Confirmed 4xx errors and DNS failures are separated from temporary server errors, TLS failures and timeouts.

Yes. The checker reads image and script src attributes and stylesheet links from server HTML. Internal fragment targets are checked against element IDs and named anchors when complete HTML is available. Truncated or unavailable HTML cannot prove a fragment is missing. JavaScript-only links, srcset images, soft 404s and external fragments are outside the check.

The CSV includes target URLs, status, source pages, anchor text, resources, redirect chains and fragment evidence. The rerun link preserves your URL and mode; it does not publish or save the report. Completed reports can be reused for five minutes. No account is needed.
