Value proposition generator

List your customer’s jobs, pains and gains in this value proposition generator, then how your offer answers them. It drafts a headline, a subheadline and three proof points, flags any point without evidence and runs a clarity checklist.

Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser, with no AI calls.

A value proposition says what result a customer gets, who it is for and why to choose you over the alternative. This generator follows the value proposition canvas: jobs, pains and gains on the customer side, relievers and creators on yours. It drafts a headline of up to 15 words and three proof points, and flags any without proof.

Customer and offer

Written to follow “made for”, such as “small dental clinics”.

A product name or a short description, such as “an online booking page”.

What people call this kind of offer, such as “a booking app”.

One per line, written to follow “We help them”, such as “fill empty slots”.

One per line, written to follow “without”, such as “phone tag with patients”.

One per line, written as a result, such as “fewer empty chairs”.

One per line, written to follow “with”, such as “reminders by text”.

One per line. How the offer creates a gain.

One per line, in the same order as the benefits: a figure you can show, a review, a guarantee or a demo.

Such as “a paper diary” or “a large chain”.

Written to follow “it”, such as “sends reminders by text”.

Replaces the draft above. The checklist then tests your version.

How to use this tool

The customer side
Jobs are what the customer is trying to get done, pains are what gets in the way and gains are the results they want. Strategyzer’s value proposition canvas uses the same three fields. Write one item per line and start each job with a verb.
Your side
Pain relievers say how your offer removes a pain, and gain creators say how it produces a gain. Add one line of proof for each, in the same order: a number, a named client, a guarantee or a review.
Headline, subheadline and proof points
Pick one of three headline frames or write your own. The subheadline says what the offer is and who it is for. The proof points come from your gain creators, then pain relievers, then gains, each paired with the proof line in the same position.
Clarity checklist
The headline is checked against 15 words, the top of HubSpot’s 10 to 15 word guide for a one line value proposition. Other checks look for the customer, a result, evidence, a number and words a reader cannot check, such as best or leading. Two checks need people: someone outside the business explains it back, and real prospects react to it.
Copy, print or share
Copy the result as text, download it as a .txt file, or print it and save it as a PDF from the print dialog. The share link keeps your answers after the # sign in the address, a part browsers do not send to the server.

Questions before you start

It says who it is for, what result they get and why your offer is the better choice, in words the customer uses. CXL’s test: if a reader cannot explain your offer back to a friend in one sentence, it needs another draft.

A slogan is short and easy to remember. A value proposition explains the result, the customer and the reason to choose you, usually as a headline, a subheadline and a few supporting points. Write the value proposition first, then the slogan.

It is an internal sentence your team can agree on: the customer, their need, your category and how you differ from the alternative. The generator writes one when you fill in the category and at least one job.

No. The page fills fixed sentence templates with your answers in your browser. No AI model is called and nothing is saved on a server. The share link carries your answers in the address, so anyone who has the link can read them.
