Instagram engagement rate divides interactions by followers, reach or views and multiplies by 100. For followers, use average interactions per post. Enter totals or paste post rows to see individual rates, their mean, median and pooled rate. Compare like-for-like with dated creator benchmarks. Inputs stay in your browser; no account lookup is needed.

How to use this tool

Choose a consistent sample
Use interactions from the same posts and time period. Choose followers, reach or impressions. For followers, enter the follower count. For reach or impressions, add those counts across all sampled posts. People can appear in several posts, so the reach total is not a unique audience for the period.
Add the interactions
Enter totals or paste one six-column row per post: followers, denominator, likes, comments, saves, shares. Use up to 100 rows. A missing interaction must be an explicit zero. Per-post results show the mean, median and pooled rate; none silently drops a malformed row.
Read the formula
By followers: divide interactions by posts, then followers, and multiply by 100. By reach or impressions: divide total interactions by the matching total and multiply by 100. Multiple actions can produce a rate above 100 percent. Compare only calculations using the same denominator and interaction definitions.

About Instagram insights

Questions before you start

No. Enter your own numbers. The arithmetic runs in your browser without a login, profile lookup or scraping. Saves and shares may be available only in your own account insights.

HypeAuditor’s September 2026 global creator medians range from 2.11% for 1,000 to under 10,000 followers to 0.32% above one million. They count likes and comments only. Compare the same formula and follower tier; a reach-based rate or a rate including saves is a different measure.

Yes. Set Posts to 1 and enter that post’s interactions. For several posts, enter their combined totals and the correct post count. Zero followers or zero posts cannot produce a meaningful follower-based rate.
