Convert salary to hourly pay by dividing annual gross pay by normal paid hours plus overtime hours weighted by your entered multiplier. Paid leave preserves normal pay and reduces worked time. Convert back using the same schedule. The calculator shows seven pay periods and gross pay per hour actually worked.

How to use this tool

Enter gross pay and its period
Choose annual, monthly, biweekly, semimonthly, weekly, daily or hourly pay. Monthly uses twelve payments, biweekly twenty-six and semimonthly twenty-four. Weekly and daily equivalents use your paid weeks and working days. Hourly input means the base rate.
Describe paid and worked time
Normal paid hours = paid weeks times weekly hours. Paid leave and holidays reduce worked hours without reducing normal pay. Overtime hours = overtime per worked week times worked weeks. Enter a multiplier from your own pay arrangement; no entitlement or premium is assumed.
Compare gross equivalents
Base hourly rate = annual pay / (normal paid hours + overtime hours times multiplier). Gross pay per worked hour = annual pay / (worked normal hours + overtime hours). Sensitivity holds annual compensation fixed while changing normal weekly hours. All calculations remain gross.

Questions before you start

The model preserves normal pay during paid leave and holidays. Those days reduce worked time. Overtime is only earned during worked weeks. For unpaid time, reduce paid weeks instead of entering the days as paid leave.

Use the multiplier in your own pay arrangement. One pays overtime at the base rate; zero adds worked overtime with no additional pay. The calculator applies your assumption to overtime in worked weeks and does not determine overtime eligibility.

The base rate prices a normal paid hour before an overtime multiplier. Gross pay per worked hour divides all annual gross pay by time actually worked, including overtime. Paid leave and overtime can make these figures different.
