Lesson 1 of 7

How assistants choose recommendations

Understand what the Index can tell you about an assistant answer.

An assistant can answer from what it learned earlier, search the web, or combine both. Its answer depends on the question, location, available sources and the product you use. A request for a family dinner can produce different names from a request for fine dining in the same city.

The AIGROW Index records answers to defined buying questions. It tells you which businesses were named in those tests. It does not reveal an assistant's private ranking rules or explain why a business was chosen. Use those questions to plan your own checks.

A real example from the Index

The October 2026 Milan restaurant page tests dinner, traditional Milanese food, fine dining and family meals. These are different needs within one category. Its results combine the question set, so you cannot attribute a restaurant's total to a single question.
