Lesson 5 of 7

Make your website's facts easy to check

Publish accurate facts, matching schema and an optional llms.txt.

Put your business name, services, area, opening hours and contact details on pages people can read. Give each real location its own useful page. Explain specific services in ordinary words and remove outdated claims. The facts in structured data should match the visible page.

Use LocalBusiness schema for an eligible local business, or Organization for an organization without a local storefront. Validate the JSON-LD and check the live page after publishing. An llms.txt file is an optional summary with links to your useful pages. It is a proposal, not a requirement or a known ranking shortcut. Keep normal pages, crawl access and accurate facts as your priorities.

A real example from the Index

The October 2026 New York gym page includes equinox.com among its source domains. The source list records an official website; it contains no schema audit or evidence that markup caused the mentions.
