How AI assistants recommend help desk software

A small team that asks an AI assistant for help desk software gets a short list of products, and the same few names come up in almost every country. Here is what the assistants answered in every country the AIGROW Index asked, and what a product can work on.

The first two rows are counts; the rows under them are medians over the ranked pages. Every question was asked without a location or a chat history.

Asked for help desk software in 20 countries, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini named about 12 products per country, and 19% of those names came up only once. Each assistant builds its list from what is published about a product. What a vendor controls is that public record: its features, its pricing and its reviews.

What to work on

What an owner can work on

No one can promise a place in an assistant’s answer. What an owner controls is what is published about the business, and these are the parts the questions above point to.

Answer the online store

One question came from an online store getting more support emails than it can answer. A page on how the product handles a store’s email, chat and order questions matches that buyer.

Show the setup

One question asked for the easiest help desk for a small team. Say how long setup takes, what a first inbox looks like and how many people the smallest plan covers.

Prices and plans in public

Published plans and prices per agent, kept current, and reviews on the comparison sites buyers read, give an assistant facts it can repeat.
