How AI assistants recommend real estate agencies
Someone who asks an AI assistant which agency should sell their home often hears the national networks first. Here is what the assistants answered in every city the AIGROW Index asked, and what an agency can work on.
- Cities asked
- 88
- Names in the rankings
- 1,040
- Businesses named per city
- 27
- Names repeated on a rerun
- 61%
- Answers that name the leader
- 80%
The first two rows are counts; the rows under them are medians over the ranked pages. Every question was asked without a location or a chat history.
Asked for a real estate agency in 88 cities, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok named about 27 agencies per city, and 45% of those names came up only once. Each assistant builds its list from what is published about an agency. What an agency controls is that public record: its services, its areas and its listings.
What a customer asked, and who came first
One place of the 88, as an example: New York. Every place was asked the same questions in its own language, and its page in the Index has the full ranking.
- Who is the best real estate agency in New York?
- I want to sell my home in New York. Which real estate agency would you recommend?
- I'm looking for an apartment to buy in New York. Which real estate agents should I contact?
- Which real estate agency in New York would you recommend for renting out an apartment?

- Tecnocasa11 places

Counted by spelling: two businesses with the same name in different places count as one.
What an owner can work on
No one can promise a place in an assistant’s answer. What an owner controls is what is published about the business, and these are the parts the questions above point to.
Selling, buying and renting apart
The questions ask separately who should sell a home, who helps a buyer and who rents an apartment out. A page for each, saying what you do and where, answers each question as it is asked.
Name the neighbourhoods
An agency that names the neighbourhoods it knows, with what it has sold or let there, gives an assistant something local to say about it that a national network cannot.
Agents with public profiles
Profiles of your agents, kept the same on your site and on the property portals, give an assistant people to name as well as a brand.
Every ranking for this trade
